Working with images in UV-CMS includes:

  1. Auto Scaling:All photos adapt intelligently to different screen sizes, ensuring optimal performance on any device.
  2. Easily add: Integrate images through the intuitive "Gallery" add-on that simplifies the process of uploading and organizing visual elements.
  3. Flexible settings:The system provides multiple options to customize the way images are displayed, allowing you to achieve the desired visual effect.

Using relevant images not only enhances the aesthetics of your content, but also increases reader engagement by making information more accessible and memorable.

Add photos to Galleries

The Gallery add-on allows you to upload photos directly from your computer. For optimal quality and speed, we recommend image sizes between 1200 and 2000 pixels on the longer side. Avoid excessively large files (over 5 MB) as they overload the server without significantly improving visual quality.

For efficient disk space management, reuse photos already uploaded from other posts. Simply search for the desired image by file name in the gallery of available photos.

In addition to your own photos, you can enrich your post with images from the popular Unsplash photo bank. Enter an English keyword in the search box to browse the options. Select the appropriate photo with one click to add it to your gallery.

When the page is initially loaded, thumbnails of the uploaded photos are generated, which may cause a temporary delay. For optimal performance:

If you have a large number of photos, upload them in batches of 20-30.

After each batch, press "Browse" to generate the thumbnails.

This approach will ensure smoother operation and reduce the risk of server overload issues. Keep in mind that uploading too many photos at once can overwhelm server resources and cause processing errors.

View by number of photos

The Gallery add-on automatically adjusts its view according to the number of uploaded photos. When a single photo is displayed, it appears in a large size, taking up the entire width of the post. Two photos are arranged in two columns and three photos are arranged in three columns. For four or more photos, the gallery switches to a four-column view for desktop and a two-column view for mobile. This flexible layout ensures optimal presentation of your images, regardless of their quantity and the device on which they are viewed.

You can have multiple "Gallery" add-ons in a post that have different views, as shown below.

View according to selected template

The "Gallery" add-on offers a variety of preview options available via an additional menu. Users can choose between different display styles that affect the proportions of the photos and the overall layout of the gallery. In addition to the standard arrangement, there are alternative options such as a dynamic slider that allows for interactive viewing of the images. This flexibility allows the presentation of photos to be customised to the specific needs and preferences of each publication.

The example below shows the "Gallery 5" template.

Additional options

The Gallery add-on offers an intuitive interface for managing your images. The green "+" button makes it easy to add new photos, while the minus button lets you remove them from the gallery. It is important to note that removing a photo from the gallery does not delete it from the server, it only removes it from the current arrangement. To completely delete images from the system, please refer to the Resources section.

The flexibility of the gallery is complemented by the ability to rearrange photos by simply pulling, allowing you to achieve the visual consistency you want. You can add accompanying text and author information to each image, enriching the context of your gallery. The quality of displayed images is centrally managed through settings in the configuration file, ensuring consistency and optimal performance.
