When creating and editing posts in UV-CMS, you will find several fields in the Meta tab that have an important impact on the visibility and discoverability of your content on the web.

Meta Title

Meta Title is the title that appears in search engine results as well as at the top of the browser window. This is the first impression users get of your page, so it's important to be clear and appealing. The meta title should contain keywords related to the content of the page to make it easier for users and search engines to understand the topic.

Here are some guidelines for good Meta Title optimization:

  • No more than 60 characters, including spaces. Google usually displays the first 50-60 characters in search results;
  • Include a keyword for which you want to appear in the search;
  • Use specific, descriptive headings that reveal the content of the page;
  • Make headlines unique for each page - don't duplicate them;
  • Keep punctuation to a minimum and avoid any unnecessary words.

Meta Description

Meta Description is a brief description of the page content. This description is also displayed in search engine results under the Meta title. A well-written Meta Description can grab the attention of users and encourage them to click on your page. It is important to include keywords and create a sentence or two that clearly and specifically describes what users can expect from your page.

  • Maximum about 155-160 characters
  • Summarize the page content with a few key phrases
  • Include relevant keywords
  • Make it unique and attractive
  • Avoid duplicate descriptions between pages

Slug (web address)

A slug is the part of your page's URL that uniquely identifies it. It's usually short, descriptive and easy to read. The slug should contain keywords and be formatted with hyphens between words. For example, the URL of this page is: "https://uv-cms.com/en/a/seo"; , and we have chosen the word SEO to be part of the URL. It is important for both users and search engines as it contributes to the comprehension and discoverability of the page.

🔥 We do not recommend changing the slug after publishing.

Automatic field generation

If you do not fill in these fields manually, UV-CMS will automatically generate them from the title and text of the post. Although this feature makes the process easier, if you wish you can fill in the fields yourself to ensure they accurately reflect your ideas for on-page SEO (search engine optimization).
